5. Terrain, climate details and some precautionary tips

The five Jyotirlinga Kshetras in Maharashtra are located in different directions. Each Kshetra is geographically situated in a different environment. Nashik and Bhimashankar are in the western part of the state, Parali in the east, and Aundha and Ghrishneshwar in the northeast.

Bhimashankar and Tryambakeshwar are temples situated on the Sahyadri Mountains. Other temples and tourist spots here are also on the hills. To reach Saptashrungi Devi Temple, one has to go by cable car. The roads to this place are not direct; they are winding hill roads. Travelers may experience dizziness or vomiting while traveling. However, if proper precautions are taken, there will be no problems.

The weather in both these towns is pleasant. In summer, the temperature reaches 30 degrees Celsius. Rainfall is heavy during the monsoon. In winter, the temperature drops to 10 degrees Celsius. Winter here is from October to February.

Parali, Aundh, and Ghrishneshwar are also in the Sahyadri range but are situated on flat land. Cold and rain do not affect these places much, but they are towns with intense heat.

During summer pilgrimages, one should be careful while traveling in the towns and drink only purified water.

6. Seat allotment in train and bus

Train journey is planned with sufficient breaks where ever it is required. Seats in trains are allotted by Indian Railways as per their rules. It is always better to book the seat well in advance to avail berths of your choice. But kindly be informed that we do not give any guarantee of getting lower berths as it is not in any individuals control.

We hire 3rd party buses for this yatra. These coaches are equipped with 2×2 push back seats fixed on elevated body. Screens will be provided on every window. Chambers are provided in the lower portion of the bus for placing heavy luggage units.

Seats will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis. Requests for change in the seat(s) in any part of the journey are not entertained. Mutual exchange of seat with other passengers may be done solely on each other’s responsibility.

Caution: Since this is only a 10-day tour, excessive baggage would not be required. As luggage compartments are provided in the bus, there will be no luggage porterage vehicle arranged. Paid porting service from the room to bus is available at the rate of Rs. 50 per bag. So, bring only as much as you can port on your own.

Overhead space should be shared equally by every Yatri. Yatris should use the space only concerned to their seats. Handbags and essential materials can be placed on the overhead cupboard. Bigger bags are to be placed in the luggage compartment of the respective bus.

7. Allotment of rooms
